Heating Up An Engine In 20 Degree Weather!

“Hello everyone and welcome!” On this episode of engineering explained we see what it looks like to warm up an engine in temperatures below freezing. He uses a thermal camera to show what it looks like when you start a completely cold engine. In this demonstration, he uses a Subaru Crosstrek so it’s just a small 4 cylinder engine. It takes a few minutes for an engine to idle up to operating temps from 20 degrees and you can see what gets hot first we the thermal camera!
